1940 – 1959
During the earliest phase of INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center’s history, a dream of providing outstanding, comprehensive inpatient care to Oklahoma City residents transformed into brick and mortar. Planning began in the 1940s when the Baptist General Convention in Oklahoma decided to build the badly-needed hospital. A planning committee raised funds, determined the new hospital’s location, and watched the building rise on a hill overlooking Lake Hefner. Baptist Memorial Hospital opened its door on Easter Sunday, March 19, 1959.
